Ce connecteur filaire à carte est largement utilisé pour connecter des fils aux cartes, il peut s'agir d'une alimentation électrique ou de la connexion de tout autre périphérique comme un moteur à la carte. La distance entre deux broches de montage est un multiple de 3,5 mm standard afin que ce connecteur puisse être monté facilement sur des circuits imprimés à usage général. Ce connecteur peut être utilisé en toute sécurité pour un courant jusqu'à 7A.
